Wayne Gordon Ludwig, 88 years old, of Browning, Missouri, passed away Tuesday October 31st, 2017 at Milan Health Care Center in Milan.
Wayne was born October 7th, 1929 in Amherst, Nebraska to Fred and Opal (Stone) Ludwig. On December 14th, 1957, he married Juanita (Marlow) Ludwig, she preceded him in death. Wayne later married Wilma (Lovell) Ludwig, who also preceded him in death.
Wayne is also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Fred Ludwig and one daughter, Freda M. Ludwig. Wayne is survived by three daughters, Deanna L.. Moyle (Darrell) of Brookfield, Wanda L. Crouch of Browning, and Katrina L.. Morataya (Luis) of Los Angeles, California; a sister, Florence Gooch of Browning; four brothers, Elvin Dean Ludwig of Mendon, Nebraska, Ronald Ludwig of Browning, Larry Ludwig of Purdin; Gerald Ludwig of Browning, two grandchildren, Amy Springer and Mark Morataya; two great grandchildren, Erika Springer and Makyla Springer; along with many nieces and nephews.
Wayne attended and graduated from Browning High School. He was a member of both the United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post in Browning. Wayne served in the US Navy for four years, spending some of this time on the USS Arcadia, travelling to such places as Hawaii, Guam, Cuba, Okinawa, and South America. Coming home to Browning, he farmed, eventually moving to Cedar Rapids, IA with his family in the summer of 1967. There, he worked at Lefebure Corp. as a machinist for 25 years until he retired. Moving back to Browning, he took up farming for a few more years along with working part time at the at Sullivan County Courthouse for several years. Wayne liked puttering around the farm and keeping busy with projects and chores. He enjoyed listening to Cardinals baseball games on the radio, smoking his pipe and planning future projects. Wayne loved his family and was always willing to give a helping hand to others.
A Celebration of Life and dinner for Wayne will be held at 1pm, Saturday November 18th, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Browning. A private interment service with military rites will be held at later date.
Contributions in his memory are requested to be sent to the Knifong Cemetary or the American Legion.
