                Vondene Quigley passed away peacefully Friday, August 30, 2019 in Lee’s Summitt, Missouri at the age of 92. Vondene was born September 14, 1926 in Milan, Missouri to Von Herman and Myrtle (Page) Shaw.

                Vondene graduated from Milan High School in 1944. She attended Kirksville State Teachers College and taught two years in rural schools in the area.

                Vondene married Wendell L. Quigley on May 13, 1945 at the Mt. Zion Country Church. They spent 65 beautiful years together until Wendell’s passing in 2010. To this union one daughter was born.

                Vondene was a faithful woman of God who unselfishly served her family, friends, church, and community with unconditional love. She had a deep passion and love of gardening and enjoying nature. One of her greatest joys was baking and cooking for others to their genuine delight.

                Vondene was predeceased by her parents and her brothers Lyle Shaw and his wife Betty Rae, and Earl Shaw and his wife Janine, her nephew Rodney Shaw and nieces Selena Shaw and Radene Mason.

                She is survived by her daughter Sherri Morehead and her husband Tim. Brother Jack Shaw and his wife Donna and sister-in-law Virginia Shaw. Grandchildren Chad and Whitney Morehead, Tyler and Brooke Morehead, and Melissa and Jeff Hunter. Great-grandchildren Jack Tyler Morehead, Paige Nicole Morehead, Jacob Cole Hunter, Truxton Daniel Morehead, Riggins Matthew Morehead, and Henry John Hunter and many nieces and nephews.

                Services for Vondene will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the service time on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, located southeast of Milan.
