Ruth Geraldine Ogle, of Kirksville, passed away on Sunday, July 9th at the age of 91.
Geraldine was born in Milan on August 6th, 1925 to Helen and John Bennett. She grew up on a farm near Milan, along with her brothers Jack and Joe. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Joe at the age of 19, brother Jack, and son in law Delane Borron.
Geraldine married her husband Winfred Ogle on December 5th, 1944. They had 71 years of happy marriage until his passing in 2015. In their early days, they lived out on a farm near Mystic, where they raised cattle and grew corn. It was here they started their family, and raised their daughter, Linda. Geraldine is survived by her daughter Linda Borron, her grandson Brent Borron, both of Georgia, and her nieces Jane (Duane) Kimble and Jean (Kenny) Evans, and nephew Joe (Janie) Bennett.
After their years on the farm, Geraldine and Winfred moved into town in Milan. They started the business they would be most well known for, Ogle’s TV Sales and Service, where Geraldine worked in the store with her husband.
Geraldine was always outgoing, and never knew a stranger. She was always on the go, and loved to take a ride around town or out through the country. “Lets go for a spin,” she would say. Geraldine was a woman of unique sayings, and had something clever to say on any topic. She was also known to have a sweet tooth, and could always be relied upon to have a candy or cookie close at hand.
Geraldine was a Christian woman, and attended various churches, most recently the Faith Baptist Church of Kirksville and the Kirksville Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Her faith in Christ was always an important part of her life, and showed in her generosity and kindness she shared with all she knew.
We will miss her greatly, her wit, her warm caring, her loving smile, and we know that she is looking down on us now with her Heavenly Father.
Funeral services for Geraldine will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City, Missouri. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Price and Rev. Brandon Rhea. Music will be provided by Jack Smith. Pallbearers will be Joe Bennett, Bud Payne, Tom Baxter, Duane Kimble, Kenny Evans, Marvin Sayre, Harvey Sayre and John Sayre. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Green City. A visitation is scheduled 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday, July 14, 2017.
