Pearl Dorothy Griffin
Pearl Dorothy Griffin, 102 years old, of Milan, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018 at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.
Pearl was born July 2, 1916 in Milan to Ed and Eula (Gramling) Meeks. She married Howard “Tuffy” Griffin, he preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her parents; and two sisters, Edith Kizzire Cassidy and Laverne Lintner.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews including: Dean and Judy Preston, June and Bill May, Doyle and Judy Kizzire, Judy Dunlap, Louise Ralls, Debbie and Bill Santa Maria, and Robert Wilson; and several great nieces and nephews.
Pearl and Howard lived in White Cloud, Nebraska for a few years where he worked on the river. They returned to Milan where they owned and operated a service station and various other ventures. Pearl was a member of the Milan United Methodist Church and past member of the Milan Federated Garden Club, Sullivan County Country Club, and the Red Hatters Club. Pearl enjoyed gardening and golfing. She loved painting and won several ribbons in art shows.
A graveside service for Pearl will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Henry Cemetery, Southwest of Milan. Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
