Nomajean Ethel Daniel, 93, was carried by angels to heaven on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from the Twin Pines Nursing Facility in Kirksville, Missouri.
Nomajean was born July 24, 1923 near Green City, Missouri to Bernie and Ethel (Swearengen) Tharp. She was raised in Green City before moving to Green Castle after her marriage to James Colon Christy on February 26, 1941 and to this union their daughter Judy was born. James preceded her in death on September 15, 1965. She later married Herb Daniel on June 1, 1967 and he preceded her in death in 1988. Also preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, James Christy in 1965; one brother, Earl Tharp; one sister, Lorene Owens.
She is survived by her daughter; Judy Christy of Kirksville, Missouri; two step sons; J.C. Daniel (Jeanne) of Sachse, Texas and Bill Daniel of Branson, Missouri; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, one brother Bernie Tharp of Gardner, Kansas; one sister Ramah Bennett of Independence, Missouri; several nieces and nephews, her special friends; Wilma Elsea, Billy and Kathy White and their children, Maggie, Mandy and Hunter White.
Nomajean was a housewife and loving mother all of her adult life. She was a member of the Green Castle Methodist Church. She loved gardening, collecting roosters, watching the Lawrence Welk Show on Saturday nights. Nomajean spent her most precious years caring for her beloved daughter, Judy.
Funeral services are 2:00 P.M., Sunday, May 14, 2017 at the Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City. Officiating will be Pastor Archie Phillips and Bill Daniel. Music will be provided by Judy Christy, she will play “Amazing Grace”, “Picture On The Wall”, and “Old Rugged Cross”. Honorary pallbearers are Wilma Elsea, Velda Russell, Bill Daniel, J.C. Daniel and all of the staff and friends at Highland Crest Assisted Living Facility. Pallbearers are Billy White, Hunter White, Joe White, Hal Moore, Rusty Wayman, Stanley Ellsworth and Bradley Ellsworth. A visitation is scheduled for 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 13, 2017. Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery southeast of Milan, Missouri.
