                Mary Ella Courtney, 75 years old, of Milan, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

                Mary was born July 22, 1943 in Milan to Tillson and Flossie (Sharp) Scott. She married Bobbie Joe Courtney and three children were born to this marriage. She later married Lonnie Doyle Courtney, he preceded her in death March 22, 1999. She was also preceded by: her parents; and a son, Fred Courtney.

                She is survived by: one daughter, Debbie and Mike Wright of Trenton, Missouri; a son, Rick Courtney of Maryland; grandchildren, Ila Woolsey (Don), Chris Baker (Lindsey), Tiffany Owen (Galen), Shane Courtney, and Mindy Hanen (Chris); great grandchildren, Kaylee Courtney, Chelsey Courtney, Makayla Courtney, Cohen Woolsey, Emily Woolsey, Shayla Woodside, Kaden Owen, Bailey Owen, and Mason Owen; Step children, Joe Courtney (Gwen) of Trenton, Tammy Jones (Bob) of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Mike Courtney (Georganna) of Milan; step grandchildren, Jessica Jones, Nathan Courtney, Ruthie Courtney, Becky Courtney, and Emma Courtney; step great grandchildren, Kenneth, Remington, and Harley May; A brother, Lewis Fisher (Teresa) of Trenton; a sister, Gladys McFarland (Crystal Homan) of Columbia; and five nieces and nephews.

                Mary was born in the Milan area then moved to California, then Guam, and returned to Milan in 1980. She was a homemaker most of her life but also worked at Chick’s and PSF. Mary was a woven rug maker and supplied rugs all over the country. She also caned chairs and made crafts. Mary was a member of the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church in Milan, the Historical Society, Geneology and Sullivan County Museum. Mary loved animals, especially cats and dogs.

                A graveside service for Mary will be 11:00 AM, Monday, August 27, 2018 at Campground Cemetery, west of Milan. Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
