Karen Ludwig, age 74, of Milan, MO. passed away May 18, 2018 at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri after suffering a stroke and massive heart attack.
She was the daughter of Milton and Maurine Wall, wife of Fred Ludwig and mother of Curtis Ludwig, all deceased. Karen lived all her life in Milan. In early years she dedicated many years as an LPN working in the Milan hospital. She and her family enjoyed visiting her parents when they were wintering in Ruskin, Florida. Karen and her mother sold Avon products for many years and later Christi started selling Avon with her mother. She lived a happy life doing crafts, making Afghans, crocheting, knitting and making hand-made quilts. She had a giving heart and gave away many quilts.
In later years, life became rather difficult as she struggle with daily living and health problems. I only visited her briefly, once or twice a year, but we enjoyed visiting on the phone every two weeks. She never lost her cheerful attitude and delighted in telling me the Milan news and what she and Christi had been doing.
She was a member of the Christian Church in Milan and was strong in her Christian faith.
She was also an organ donor. Karen was cremated. This was written by her brother, Richard Wall.
A graveside memorial service for Karen will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Oakwood Cemetery in Milan. After the service, friends are invited to Florence Gooch’s home in Browning.
