Jackie Lee Betsworth
Jackie Lee Betsworth, 82 years old, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at North Care Hospice in North Kansas City.
Jackie was born September 28, 1935 in Kansas City to Robert and Jewell (Law) Betsworth. On April 20, 1957 in Miami, Oklahoma he married Bonnie (Jennings) Betsworth and she survives.
Also surviving: one son, Bob Betsworth and wife Carla of North Kansas City; one daughter, Julie Tucker of Camdenton, Missouri; two son-in-laws, Drew Tucker of Camdenton, and Stew Stepp of Garden City, Kansas; 8 grandchildren, Brandon Betsworth (Julie Head), Candys Betsworth, Blake Betsworth (Margo), Justice Tucker, Drew Tucker, Jr., Julian Tucker, Travis Betsworth, and Nicole Scimeca; one great grandchild, Ava Betsworth; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; one daughter, Tammy Stepp, one brother, Robert Betsworth; and one sister, Sandra McFarland.
After Jackie’s father passed away, he quit school and went to work for Trail Mobile as an apprentice to help his family. He worked there for 45 years until retiring due to a disability in 1993. He also worked as a Midland Theatre usher for many years. Jackie was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Kansas City, Missouri, and later attended Hosanna Lutheran Church. Jackie was artistic and did a lot of drawing, even inventing the old Campbell’s Soup label. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and old cars.
Funeral services for Jackie will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan, Missouri. There is no scheduled visitation. Burial will follow at White Oak Cemetery, South of Milan.
