 Christl (Christa) Compton a long-time resident of Milan Missouri passed away peacefully on Friday the 30th of August at University Hospital in Columbia Missouri.

Christa was born in Villach, Austria to Matthias and Maria Egger.  Christa moved to the United States in 1964 later moving to the Milan area in 1982 where she successfully immersed herself into the farming community after her marriage to Jack Compton.  Christa has a love for animals which is unmatched by most. Throughout her years in Milan Christa worked for Milan Nursing Home and ConAgra. Christa also had many talents which included knitting, crocheting, sewing, and painting.  She also always had the most beautiful garden.  Christa was fond of working on their family farm with her husband. Mostly, Christa had a profound love for her family.

Christa is survived by her husband Jack Compton of Milan, her sister Johanna Egger of Villach, Austria.  Her children Joanna (West) and Patrick Tallman of Lancaster, MO; Jenise (West) and Rob Soyster of Fenton, MO; Logan and Traci Compton of Fredericksburg, VA; and Tracey (West) and Ryan White of Jefferson City, MO.  Grandchildren include Patricia (Tallman) and Chad Giannetti of Las Vegas, NV; Tristan (Tallman) and Micah Battin of Fenton, MO; Shayna Tallman of Lancaster, MO; Makayla Tallman of Columbia, MO; Lindsay West of Jefferson City, MO; Brenden Soyster of Fenton, MO; Taylor West of Columbia, MO; and Hailey Soyster of Fenton, MO.  Christa was also blessed with many great-grandchildren: Liam and Quinn Giannetti, Eli, Zander, and Scarlette Battin, and Zoey and Landyn Tallman.

Christa is proceeded in death by her parents Matthias and Maria Egger, brother Alfred Egger, and son Tony West.

A memorial service for Christa will be held 11:30 AM, Thursday, September 5, 2019 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. A visitation is scheduled for one-hour prior, starting at 10:30 AM. At a later date inurnment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery, North of Milan.
