Carol Lee Clay
Carol Lee Clay, 82 years old, of Green City, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home with his family on Thursday, November 15, 2018.
He was born at home on May 2, 1936 to Pearly Lee and Zelda Belle (Snyder) Clay. On September 4, 1967 in Miami, Oklahoma he married Katherine Ann McWhirter who survives. He is also survived by one daughter, Diana Clay of Holts Summitt, Missouri, one son, Michael Clay of Jefferson City, Missouri, three grandchildren, Taylor Clay, Kirynn Clay and Tony Clay, one great grandson, Parker Lee Clay, one brother, Gerald and wife Jill Clay of Green Castle, Missouri, one sister Juanita Young of Atlantic, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, one brother, Harold Clay and two sisters, Viola Williams and Darlene Williams, preceded him in death.
Carol was raised in the Sullivan County area before moving to Kansas City, Missouri. He then moved to Slater, Missouri where he met his wife Kathie. He and Kathie moved Kansas City, Kansas where he was employed as an Auto Mechanic in Overland Park and Olathe, Kansas. He has resided in Green City, for the past 32 years. He was last employed by John Shatto in Milan, Missouri for several years. Carol liked to fish and hunt when he was able but lately enjoyed watching western movies and spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City. Burial will follow in the Green Castle Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the funeral home.
