Alvin J. Davis
Alvin Jefferson “Jeff" Davis, 75, of Hannibal, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 19, 2019 at his home.
The son of Elmer D. and Catherine (Heaton) Davis, he was born February 26, 1944 in Staten Island, New York. On May 22, 1983 in Milan, Missouri he married Barbara Ann Jackson and she survives. Also surviving are grandsons, Mike McConkey and wife Madonna of Brownsville, Texas, Mitch McConkey and Jason Admire, both of Hannibal; several cousins including Larry Joe Williams of Green City, Missouri, James Davis and Wife Catherine of San Antonio, Texas, Maureen Sample and husband Johnnie of Edna, Texas, and Helen Edwards and husband George of Opelika, Alabama, and Pamela Davis; brother-in-laws, Doug Jackson, Charles and Barb Jackson, Terry and Kathy Jackson, Leland and Debbie Riggen and Lloyd McDonald; sister-in-laws, Liz and J.R. Cooper, Barbara Dean and Jim Nickell. He was preceded in death by: his parents; a stepdaughter, Millie Admire; two baby girls; and one grandson.
Jeff grew up in Houston, Texas, graduating High School in Houston, and went to college in Houston. He worked for a printing company until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam serving on the USS Columbus. After serving he joined the police force in Houston several years. Jeff moved to Milan, then returned to Kerrville, Texas where he was a police officer, then returning to Milan where he worked for PSF until ill health, he has lived in Hannibal for the past 16 years. Jeff was a member of the Hannibal American Legion Post.
Funeral services for Jeff will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. Burial will follow at the Green City Cemetery, North of Green City. A visitation is scheduled for 12:00 Noon until the service time, at the funeral home.
