Vincent Leroy Anderwald, 69 years old, of Green City, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at his home.
Vincent was born June 24, 1947 in Galveston, Texas to James Anderwald, Sr. and Margaret Alice (Rosea) Anderwald. In 1972, he married Phyllis (Young) Anderwald, she preceded him in death in 2008.
Vincent is survived by: a nephew, Ira Helton, Jr. of Green City; a niece, Lynnette Highkamp of Berschlen, Germany; two great nieces, Lily Helton and Phyllis Helton; three great nephews, Mady Highkamp, Alois Highkamp, and Matthew Highkamp. He was preceded in death by: His parents; wife, Phyllis; a sister, Bella Helton; and two brothers, James F. Anderwald, Jr, and Lee Anderwald.
Vincent grew up in Texas on a dude ranch. He was a member of the Merchant Marines during the Vietnam War. He moved to North Missouri and married Phyllis, then returned to Harwood, Texas, where he opened a towing company. He also raised horses and did horseshoeing. Vincent returned to North Missouri to be with family and friends. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Vincent liked to hunt, fish, and ride horses.
A memorial gathering for Vincent’s friends and family will be announced at a later time at Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Green City. Vincent’s cremains will be buried later, next to his wife Phyllis, in Texas.
