Vickie Lynn Hartwig, 62 years old, of Dane, Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Agrace Inpatient Hospice in Madison, Wisconsin.
Vickie was born August 9, 1955 in Milan, Missouri, to Harvey and Billie Jean (Moore) Oertwig. Vickie grew up in Browning, Missouri, graduating from Browning High School.
Vickie was a Godly woman that loved her family and friends with everything she had to give. She was a light to every life she touched and was loved by so many and will be missed by us all, but her light will be with us all for the rest of our days. Her love for her daughters was beyond measure, she was so proud of the women they have turned out to be and all her grandchildren held an extremely special place in her heart. She loved minature ponies, monkies, her flowers, and of course Apollo and Baby. She was a woman with wise, kind words of encouragement in tough times and was like a book of knowledge. Her legacy will live on through each of us. She is now sitting with God with her white peacocks and everything she could of ever dreamed of.
She is survived by: her Mother ( whom she called the Queen of the family) Billie Jean Oertwig, of Purdin, Missouri; two daughters, Christy Smithee and husband Kyle of Harrisburg, Missouri, and Alana Eggleston and husband Robert of Fenton, Missouri; three grandchildren, Devin, Blake, and Haven; two great grandchildren Kai and Addie Forsee; a brother, Terrance Dean Oertwig and wife Cherry along with their two children of Texas; several cousins including a special cousin, Sharon Gardner; and one aunt, Phyllis Riddle. She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey.
A graveside service for Vickie will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Oakwood Cemetery in Milan, Missouri. Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan is handling arrangements.
