            Mary Lee Murdock, 90, of Milan, Missouri, died Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Sullivan County Long Term Care in Milan.

            The daughter of William Jahue and Phila Dean (Purdy) Watson, she was born May 11, 1926 in the Judson community near Harris, Missouri.  On December 14, 1946 in Kirksville she married David Dale Murdock and he preceded her in death on August 14, 1974.  Also preceding her were a son George Murdock; a grandson, Joseph Eli Routh on January 28, 2017; one brother, Gene Watson; one sister, Hattie Mae Orlofsky; and a nephew, W.J. Orlofsky.

            Her survivors include; two daughters, Carol Beckord of Milan and Janet Murdock of Harris, Missouri; four grandchildren, Angela Guffey, Colby Shaw, Amber Sue Purcell, and Camille Haselhorst; four great grandchildren, Taylor, Madison, Ryder, Kaedon and Keegan; and one nephew, Tom Orlofsky.

            Mary Lee grew up in the Judson Community and attended Judson School and later graduated from Milan High School in 1943.  Following High School she attended Chillicothe Business College.  After college she returned to Milan and worked as a secretary at the Sullivan County Courthouse.  After her marriage in 1946 they moved to Kirksville where she was a secretary for Burdman Auto Parts for several years.  They later moved to Colfax, Iowa where she worked in the bank and later in an insurance office.  She retired in 1994 and returned to Milan.  In her early years she was proud of being a Rainbow Girl.  Mary Lee was an active member of the Colfax Presbyterian Church and had served as an Elder.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and was considered an excellent gardener and canner.

            Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan.  Burial will follow in the Harris Cemetery at Harris, Missouri.  Visitation is scheduled for one hour before services at the funeral home.

            The family has suggested contributions in her memory to the Harris Cemetery Association.
