Mabel M. Havens, 99 years old, of Brookfield, Missouri, formerly of Browning, Missouri, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at McLarney Manor in Brookfield.
Mabel was born October 10, 1917 in North Salem, Missouri to Thomas Melvin and Ida Mae (Tucker) Smith. In 1936, she married Kermit Lambert, he preceded her in death in 1974. She then married Wilson Havens in 1978, he preceded her in 1995.
Mabel is survived by: two granddaughters, Judith Naylor of Oak Grove, Missouri, and Tina Ellis and husband Randy of Olathe, Kansas; five great grandchildren, Justin Naylor, Jennifer Reaney, Sarah Myres and husband Rob, Kelsey Gumminger, and Mariah Gumminger; five great great grandchildren, Andrew Naylor, Dominic Reaney, Hailey Reaney, Zoe Myres, and Shane Myres; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Sonja Montgomery in 2002.
Mabel lived most of her life in the Browning and Brookfield area, where they farmed. She was a member of the Browning United Methodist Church. Mabel enjoyed reading and dancing at Eagles in Chillicothe.
Funeral services for Mabel will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Browning. Burial will follow at the North Salem Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the service, starting at 10:00 AM at the church. Ruschmeier Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
